Description
A complex woven sculpture comprising a system of concentric rings, Emergence Series reflects Eric Gushee’s artistic ethos in allowing a piece of work to dictate its own evolution. Part of a series, each sculpture is created from a tweaving process using rebar ties and aircraft cable. Rooted in this unique approach to traditional fiber techniques, Gushee’s pieces do not follow any blueprint, and instead reveal themselves through the repetition of a single act or gesture, a process that pushes the boundaries of a material’s true qualities.
