Details

Made by hand by highly skilled craftspeople in the USA.
Solid wood frame is constructed from hand-selected American White Oak.
Structural joinery is true mortise and tenon. This is further reinforced with glued corner blocks and screws.
Each chair is cut, sewn and tailored by hand.
Seat upholstery is constructed with layers of multi-density foam for consistent comfort.
Glides are included.

CASTE is furniture, lighting and objects designed by Ty Best. Based in Montana with a small collaborative team of exceptional woodworkers and finishers, Ty is inspired by natural forms, sculpture, brutalist architecture and the workmanship of traditional crafts.

CASTE honors a hand-built approach, dedicated to the intimate labor of drawing by hand and handcrafted design.
