Description
In this print by Mio Akashi, the afternoon sun casts shadows over a stone bench outside of the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, forming a geometric composition across surfaces of concrete, travertine and water. Part of her Touch of Light series, Akashi explores the material nature of light and shadow to shape and define spaces. Akashi uses a wide range of methods for her large-scale architectural prints, from traditional film photography to 19th century processes paired with a 21st century digital approach.
