Description
Midnight Round 2/7 is a metallic blue anodized aluminum sculpture flecked with copper notes by Alex Rasmussen. The piece is from his Pacific Series, inspired by California’s Light and Space movement of the 1960s and ’70s. The third generation in his family to operate an aluminum fabrication business, Rasmussen has a unique knowledge of the material. Combined with his study of the industrial process by Light and Space artists to achieve finishes oriented to the environment of Southern California, Rasmussen can also be said to sculpt in light, imparting a sense of poetic beauty to each work.
