    Upholstered seat and back on walnut frame. A sinuous back that wraps and holds like a sling back on a heel.

  • Details
    • Made by hand by highly skilled craftspeople in the USA.
    • Solid wood frame is constructed from hand-selected American black walnut.
    • Structural joinery is true mortise and tenon. This is further reinforced with glued corner blocks and screws.
    • Each chair is cut, sewn and tailored by hand.
    • Seat and sculpted back upholstery are constructed with layers of multi-density foam for consistent comfort.
    • Glides are included.

CASTE is furniture, lighting and objects designed by Ty Best. Based in Montana with a small collaborative team of exceptional woodworkers and finishers, Ty is inspired by natural forms, sculpture, brutalist architecture and the workmanship of traditional crafts.
