Graciela Garza

Graciela Garza was born into a family of artists in Saltillo, Coahuila, México, and has painted since childhood. Her genre-bending compositions uncover, behind the veil of abstraction, figures, landscapes and symbols. Garza’s inspirational work brings to consciousness the wavering world of the unconscious mind.

“Art is a part of my being; art has always been in my life. I admire the work of Van Gogh, Degas and Gauguin and I believe that these artists were the bridge to surrealism. I love their palettes and when I started painting, I used bright colors to express joy, energy and vitality. After that, I wanted to express another side of myself, conveying peace, tranquility, enigma and mystery through my works. My art is intended to be continuously alive; the spectator is invited to travel on an infinite journey.”
